Welcome Board Members

Abode Communities is pleased to introduce two new members of its board of directors: Kelly Boyer and Nkechi Odu. Both members bring a diverse range of expertise in their respective fields to help advance the organization’s mission through governance; strategic planning and oversight; policy and advocacy; and fund development.

Kelly Boyer serves as the west coast managing director for Rose Community Capital responsible for expanding FHA origination and underwriting platform with a focus on FHA lending. With particular focus on affordable deals with FHA financing and layered secondary sources, Boyer is particularly skilled in handling financing sources such as Low Income Housing Tax Credits, Bonds, RD, HOME, and CDBG as well as local sources of funding. Prior to joining Rose Community Capital, Boyer was the FHA Multifamily/MAP Director for Citibank, N.A. where she was responsible the development, implementation, and integration of the FHA lending platform into the company’s core affordable housing lending activities. She also served as former Director of U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Los Angeles, California, Multifamily hub.

Nkechi Odu is principal of Odu & Associates, PC and is a transactional real estate attorney with more than 15 years of experience in the area of affordable housing development and finance. Odu represents developers and investors in the development and financing of affordable housing projects using Low Income Housing Tax Credits, tax-exempt bonds, and other federal, state, and local subsidies. Prior to establishing her own practice, Odu was an associate at Proskauer Rose LLP and Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker LLP where she represented lenders and equity investors in the financing of hundreds of Low Income Housing Tax Credit projects throughout the country.
