Accepting Applications August 28 – September 15:
Camino del Mar & Vista del Mar, Wilmington

Located at 340 Hawaiian Avenue in the Wilmington neighborhood of Los Angeles, Camino del Mar & Vista del Mar will offer 174 new, high-quality, service-enhanced affordable homes combined with rental assistance to qualified families.

Applying

It is highly recommended that you attend one of three community meetings where Abode Communities will distribute rental applications, review the application process, and confirm income and eligibility requirements. All meetings will take place in the community room at Harbor View Place, 326 N. King Avenue, Wilmington, CA 90744, beginning promptly at 6:00 pm on the following dates:

  • Tuesday, August 22
  • Wednesday, August 23
  • Thursday, August 24

Due to space constraints, a maximum of two adults per family may attend.

Rental applications will be accepted starting Monday, August 28, accessible Monday through Friday from 9 am – 4 pm at the temporary leasing office located at Harbor View Place. Should you wish to mail your completed application, please send to:

Only one (1) application per family will be accepted. The application must be thoroughly complete, signed, and dated. It is not necessary to include any other documents with the application. If selected, you will be required to bring all documentation to the interview.

You will receive a confirmation of receipt when you submit the completed application package. Only applications received between August 28 and September 15 will be invited to participate in the lottery. All mailed applications must be received by September 15.

Please note that submitting a completed application does not guarantee your eligibility for an apartment.

Lottery

A lottery will be held at 10:30 am on September 19 in the community room at Harbor View Place. During this time, a lottery number will be assigned to each application, and applications will then be processed by lottery number. All lottery results will be sent by mail. Applicants are not required to attend the lottery, yet may do so if they wish.

Applications received after September 15 will be placed on a waiting list after the last lottery number, filed by date and time of receipt.

Eligibility

Applicant households must meet the resident selection criteria requirements for the Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) program, as well as the Project-Based Voucher program governed by the Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles (HACLA). Additionally, households eligible for Project-Based Vouchers must meet minimum resident services program participation requirements as a condition of receiving housing and rental assistance.

Move-Ins

Abode Communities expects move-ins to begin in early 2018.
