Abode Communities Preserves Affordable Housing for Some 800 Low-Income Residents
Abode Communities has successfully completed the repositioning and rehabilitation of seven properties with 266 affordable family homes for the benefit of some 800 low-income residents.
The seven developments (E. Victor Villa, New Park Place, Astoria Place, Oxnard Villa, Reseda Village, Sunshine Terrace and Osage) underwent substantial renovations and capital upgrades, including new exterior paint, windows, and doors; roof repairs; new bathrooms and kitchens; and structural, accessibility, and energy upgrades, including Energy Star appliances and low-flow water fixtures. Moreover, Abode Communities extended housing affordability to residents in perpetuity for up to 55 years.
Abode Communities will continue its preservation activities and is expected to complete the repositioning and rehabilitation of 500 more homes by 2019.
