Wilmington Townhomes
Co-developed by Abode Communities and Mercy Housing California, Wilmington Townhomes is the second phase of the New Dana Strand Revitalization that transformed a 20.7-acre public housing site once used as temporary military housing in the Port-based neighborhood of Wilmington in Los Angeles. To maximize joint-use opportunities with the surrounding community, Abode Communities and Mercy Housing led a comprehensive community planning process including former residents, neighbors, the school district, Resident Advisory Council, the local Chamber of Commerce, and other groups. This resulted in the development of a 10,000 square foot community center now operated by Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Centers.
