Partnership with LACMA Provides Free Membership to Abode Communities’ Residents

More than 50 Abode Communities’ residents enjoyed a free museum day field trip to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) as part of LACMA’s Arts for NextGen program, which offered children participants free membership to the museum valid until they reach 18 years of age, including free entrance for a parent.

Made possible via a collaboration between LACMA and Abode Communities’ Beyond Homes resident services program, museum day participants also enjoyed free transportation to and from the museum, a bi-lingual guided tour through the contemporary art collection, a variety of family-centered activities and open museum roaming time. Resident Domonique Slack said, “This trip was great. I was able to spend more time with my daughter and especially enjoyed being able to paint with her at the Children’s Gallery. It was my first time going to LACMA and I hope we can continue going.”
