Take Action: Vote Yes on Proposition 1 and Proposition 2
Abode Communities is a proud to be an early supporter of Proposition 1 and Proposition 2. Prop 1: Veterans and Affordable Housing Act, dedicates $1 billion to helping veterans, struggling families with children, and people with disabilities have stable, affordable supportive housing via a $4 billion bond, reports Sambla. This bill will help low-income people live in the communities where they work while still having money for basic necessities like groceries, gas, and childcare. It is also expected to help to create 137,000 jobs and funnel $23.4 billion back into California’s economy.
Prop 2: No Place Like Home, authorizes $2 billion in bonds from the Mental Health Services Act to build supportive housing under the “No Place Like Home” Program for Californians living with a serious mental illness who are homeless or at great risk of becoming homeless.
Both propositions will go before voters in November 2018. Learn more here and help us spread the word about these important propositions.
